Pick up at the hotel. The tour will visit the old Grau Bridge (designed by Eiffel), Alameda, Bolognesi Ave., overlooking the beautiful houses of the 50’s, the Colonial Church and Yanahuara neighborhood viewpoint, where most of the city is observed, Carmen district viewpoint, for a beautiful view of the Chilina valley, and the Chili River with Misti, Chachani and Pichu Pichu volcanoes, typical Pre-Inca terraces still cultivated. Return to the city, exterior view of the Cathedral, Plaza de Armas (Main Square), colonial downtown area, Church and Cloisters of the Church of the Society of Jesus and its polychromed dome. Visit the famous monastery of Santa Catalina, built in the sixteenth century and opened to the public after 400 years in 1970. Return to the hotel.
Exit behind Chachani snow covered mountain, pampa Cañahuas, Aguada Blanca National Reserve, where you can see wild vicunas, the typical Andean highland landscape characterized by Ichu grass, shrubs and Tola, Ccapo or Yareta. See also some small lagoons and birds like the Kara-Kara or mountain hawk, Black Ibis, Guallatas or Andean geese, ducks, some flamingos, vizcachas, etc. Maximum height in the route: 4,900m (Patapampa). In the viewpoint of the volcano, you will appreciate: Ampato, Sabancaya, Mismi “The Origin of the Amazon”, among others.
After breakfast, departure by the left bank of the Colca River to the viewpoint of “La Cruz del Condor”, this part of the depth of the canyon is observed at this point is 1,000 m approx. You can appreciate the majestic flight of the Condor. Visit typical villages of Yanque, Maca, to appreciate “Piedras model” pre-Incas hanging tombs, beautiful costumes typical of each locality, vast amount of pre-Inca “andeneria” still cultivated with Andean crops: potatoes, corn, quinoa, amaranth, olluco, etc. At schedule time, transfer to the hotel in Puno city .
After breakfast, transfer from the hotel to take a motorboat from the port of Puno to the floating islands of the Uros. We will continue our trip in the Titicaca Lake until the arrival to the Taquile Island through the back part of the island at the port of Chuño. It takes about 1 hour to get to the town, where we will visit the craft center (very fine handcrafted items). Lunch.
We will pick you from your hotel in Cusco at 6am approximately to begin our adventure. We head southeast from Cusco passing through Cusipata (at 3,339 masl) before arriving at the hamlet of Llactoc where we can see herds of alpaca and llama and vegetation typical of this area. Here we begin our walk of approximately 2 ½ hours, walking through beautiful landscapes with snow-capped mountains in the distance, before finally reaching the rainbow mountain (Vinicunca). We will spend one hour at the top, time to descend approximately 1 ½ hours to return to the same hamlet to take our transport back to Cusipata for enjoy our typical lunch. After lunch, we continue back to the city of Cusco, where we arrive at approximately 6:00 p.m.
Transfer to Ollantaytambo train station to board the Inca Rail First Class train service to MachuPicchu Pueblo. Short coach trip to Machupicchu citadel. The visit includes a guided tour to the different temples, places of worship, chambers and stairs that connect the city.
After Breakfast, entrance to Waynapicchu with private guide. At scheduled time, assistance to Machupicchu Pueblo train station to board the First-Class train service. A guide will be waiting to board the bus back to Sacred Valley. Arrival and transfer to the hotel.
We will head towards the town of Maras. Very close to the village, we can find the oldest salt mines in the continent. These mines provided salt to the Inca Empire. Salt was of extreme importance to the Incas; it was used to preserve food. The locals still work these mines. After Maras, we will visit the town of Moray famous for its “andenes” (platforms created by the Incas to experiment with the different micro-climates for agricultural purposes.
Return to Cusco.
At schedule time private transfer to the airport to board the flight to Lima and connect with your international destination.
